Show Me Some PICTURES!

Have I mentioned how much I love VistaPrint yet? Well, I do. :)

Just today I ordered some sweet cards which I will have at all of our wedding events (shower, rehearsal, wedding, etc.) telling the guests how they can upload their pictures to our site on flickr. I saw this idea on a couple of other bride's blogs (but I couldn't tell you which ones...I've seen waaaaay tooooo many). Originally I wanted to have disposable cameras for guests to use, but was soon informed how "old school" that idea is. *sigh* It is a good point though, who actually uses film anymore?!

Anyway, I took advantage of VP's free 250 business card deal, and now these bad boys are on their way to me:

Pretty nifty huh! I designed them myself (I know, pretty stellar design...) using my wannabe photoshop program.

Now I just have to (A) remember to have them at all our events, (B) ensure that people actually take one home, and (C) pray that people will actually upload their photos. :) If all goes as planned, we should end up with a sweet collection of wedding photos from all different perspectives. I can't wait!!!!

I also plan to upload to this site...I'm going to start with our engagement pictures (as if people haven't seen enough of them already ;) and then as each event occurs I'll add my own pictures in hopes that others will follow (hint hint)

Check your mail...

And look for one of THESE!!

Yep, that's right, I FINALLY got the invitations in the mail. You have NO idea how big of a relief that is. No, really, you have NO idea. I have to extend mucho gratitude to my best friend (since pre-school), and MOH Jess. She was my saving grace when it came to these... she ROCKS at calligraphy!! I also must extend some props to Ash, one of my awesome bridesmaids, who was essential in stuffing and stamping. :) We had a great time, and most importantly, the invites are DONE!!! WOO HOO!!!

As you probably know from my other "freak out" posts, there were several issues with these. All of which were my fault, of course. Who doesn't think about the size of the cards going into the envelope, and whether or not they will fit? Me. Who doesn't proofread the card to check for typos after the last revision? Me. Who doesn't wait until they KNOW it is correct before ordering replacements? Me. So 2 extra sets of map cards and an extra set of envelopes later, here we are. At least VistaPrint has a rush-shipping option, and lots of 50% off coupon codes floating around... :)

I think most people have gotten theirs in the mail by now (I dropped them off at the post office on Friday), at least those who read this have (I'm hoping!) so I'm going to go ahead and let the cat out of the bag and give a preview.

Here is the front of all 3 items...

And here is the back of the 2 cards...
please excuse the random splotches on the pictures...I attempted to cover
our last names, but Photobucket got a little crazy on me...
I love them!!!! It took a lot of work to get them to this final stage, but we did it! I have to thank my designer as well (Realie: Bridezilla411, aka Ashley) for all of her patience and wonderful talent! You wouldn't believe where we started with this design! But it all came out perfectly and I couldn't be happier.
It's a bit surreal, now, thinking that this whole shebang is actually happening!! EEK! Less than 2 months out now.... holy cow!! But this is the last "big" thing checked off the list (how many times have I said that now?! ;) so on to the details. This Friday I plan to have a "DIY day" and work on the bazillion projects that I have started but never got around to finishing. So wish me luck!

Save the Date!!

Guess what went in the mailbox this morning?

These bad boys!!!
Now it's really official...our wedding date has been sent to the masses!! I didn't want to ruin the surprise for all of you actually receiving one...so that's why you only get a picture of the envelopes ;)

I have to give a big THANK YOU to my awesome Maid-of-Honor, and best friend for life, Jess, who came over Saturday and helped me address, stamp, stuff, & lick each and every one. It would have been a much less entertaining experience with out her... :)

So check your mailboxes everyone...in just a couple of days you will have a shiny new magnet to put on your fridge, with our wedding date in nice big letters, so you have no excuse! Be there or be square! ;)

Oh, and have I mentioned how much I love VistaPrint before?? Because I do. I ordered these from them, at a great price, and even got FREE shipping! Woo hoo! I ordered the envelopes separately from another awesome website, Envelope Mall. Oh how I love the power of the internet...

VistaPrint ROCKS!

Ever since we got engaged (which, yes, I know, was an entire 6 MONTHS ago) I have been looking forward to sending Save the Date magnets out. Just because our engagement will be so long (just over a year) and I want to spread the good news about our wedding as soon as possible! Well, it has taken me FOREVER to actually get this Save the Date process going. First we had to take our engagement pictures and get the copyrighted CD (yes, I realize that was like 2 months ago...) and then I had to pick out which ones I wanted (you know me and decisions...) I orginally picked some out from Magnet Street, but was hesitating because of the price.

Well...then I discovered this wonderful thing called VistaPrint (and I have the Realies to thank for that!) Holy cow, if you haven't been to their website before, stop now and click on the link. You will be AMAZED. They have so much FREE stuff!!!!! And even the stuff that's not free is amazingly CHEAP!!!! So, they have a deal where you can get 10 magnets FREE - just pay shipping - and you can design your own and upload the design (for a small fee), or use one of their templates. Well, I have this wonderful $20 version of Photo Shop at home, and I thought I'd put it to some good use and see if I couldn't design my own Save the Date (ok, by design my own I mean copy the design I liked from the Magnet Street catalog...)

I ordered the 10 Free ones from VP, just to see what they looked like (I just couldn't commit to ordering the entire 100 of them...) and they came in yesterday!! I was going to post a picture, but I don't want to spoil the fun for those of you who will receive them in the mail!! Also, they aren't exactly what I wanted YET. I still need to tweak them a little before placing the final order.

I'll probably give in and post a picture when I get the final ones in :) But I just had to share my excitement. And enlighten everyone to VistaPrint!! Seriously, if you haven't checked it out...DO IT!!!!!!! You won't regret it! And sign up with your email address. You'll get an email just about every day, but it's totally worth it because the emails are full of FREE STUFF!! I have ordered all kinds of free stuff for Matt's "company", my Christmas cards, and I think I've *almost* convinced myself to design my own invitations! :o
